May 9, 2011 - Alaska Cruise on the Wonder - Vancouver - Day 3

The whole time we have been here so far there hasn’t been any rain, mist, or drizzle at all.  The weather reported showers before we arrived to Vancouver, but today it's sunny and we’re headed out to see some whales!

We headed to Richmond to the Stevenston Harbor to board a boat from Vancouver Whale Watch company.  After about an hour ride from Canada to US waters around the San Juan Islands near Washington state, we saw a pod of Orca whales.  Along the way we saw a lot of Bald Eagles, California Sea Lions, Great Blue Heron, and Harbor Seals.  After spending some time watching the Orcas, which was very cool to see, we saw wild deer on an island, and Stellar Sea Lions.

Once we arrived back on land, we had lunch we packed and headed back to Vancouver.  We took a nap, ate dinner, and went down stairs to grab dessert.

Tomorrow we will wake up early, around 5am to watch the Wonder come into port before we board later in the day.
